Superyachts are big carbon emitters, luxurious and heavy, but they are yachts built using technology and recycled materials. Benetti, an Italian shipyard, presented the most environmentally friendly model ever built in its class – the Benetti B. Yond 37M. Fruit of the revolutionary vision of Paolo Vitelli, founder and president of the Azimut|Benetti group, and the architect Stefano Righini, Benetti B.YOND 37M embodies the excellence of a new Voyager series. It really reflects the style of the modern owner.

Moving away from popular fiberglass, Benetti reverts to a steel body – a material that guarantees durability and solidity, especially for long cruises. Benetti pioneered the introduction of metal into the yachting world, replacing wood. The white steel hull was designed by the PLANA firm of Pierluigi Ausonio. With an aluminum superstructure, the hull expresses the personality and elegance of B.Yond 37M, complemented by white stainless steel railings and contrasted by teak handrails.

For propulsion, the four-deck B.Yond 37M is the most environmentally friendly yacht in the world in its class thanks to the combination of SCR catalytic filters – a gas control technology using a urea-based liquid solution – and innovative E-Mode Hybrid system from Siemens Energy. Based on an integrated crew-friendly complementary architecture, the system optimizes onboard energy consumption according to specific user profiles. This innovative solution also offers the freedom of four operating modes, including the remarkable Full Electric mode for zero-emission sailing.

Paolo Vitelli, Founder and Chairman of the Azimut|Benetti Group, said: “I am happy to present one of the most innovative boats ever built. Fitted with a hybrid system for eco-friendly long-distance cruising and featuring a four-deck layout with a length of just 37 meters, it’s a dream come true for modern owners looking to go around around the world with their family and friends. . In my imagination, I saw a boat breaking records, and here it is”.

The lithium battery also allows staying at anchor in emission-free hotel mode, keeping generators off and running major onboard utilities from batteries, resulting in vibration-free silence while anchoring. The batteries only take three hours to fully charge. The 00 kW/h pack offers 8 hours of autonomy at anchor during the day and 12 hours at night. CO2 can be reduced by up to 24% and NOx by up to 85%. That’s not all; the B.Yond 37M has an incredible range, almost double that of traditional shuttles of the same size. Delivering up to 8,200 nautical miles at 9 knots (10 mph/14 km/h) in Eco Transfer – with two diesel generators off and a single propulsion engine running – is one of the main reasons for the reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The vessel’s maximum speed is 14 knots (16 mph/25.7 km/h).

The revolutionary concept imagined by Stefano Righini includes the inclusion of a fourth deck, providing the most noble areas with incredible panoramic views. The service area on the Lower Deck has a single-storey wine cellar and a cold room, while the Main Deck offers the sleeping area to guests, offering four suites accessible from a panoramic living room – Playroom like the brand likes to call them. The upper deck has a living area that offers a completely unobstructed 360 degree view. The Bridge Deck is exclusive for the owner with a dining area with a pantry and an outdoor table with a hard top. The layout of the yacht is very flexible and the owner can modify it according to his preferences. for example, a gym can replace an additional guest cabin.

Architect Mauro Izzo, interior design by Benetti offers even more possibilities for customization. The owner can lend his taste and personality to the yacht to live there as if it were a second home. Furnishings are from the leading contemporary design brand Giorgetti, which meets all of the owner’s demands in an embodiment of beauty and functionality. A natural color palette is enhanced by accents of blue, complements white walls and echoes the color of the sea.

B.Yond 37M has two staircases – one for the guests and one for the crew, offering completely separate flows and guaranteeing total privacy for the owner and the guests. The spacious garage can hold a 6.5 meter tender, a 4.2 meter rescue boat and two jet skis – located fully protected and in a private area.
