The interior of the new library will also include a reading room for story time, a low-tech crafting space and a high-tech crafting space – low-tech is practical arts and crafts, and high technology is computerized 3D printing and laser. decoupage – a classroom, a teen space, a quiet space for adults, group study rooms, a multi-purpose room and a reading room.

“It’s super exciting,” Council Member Anne Duffy said at the meeting. “It will be such an activated place. I imagine there are people who don’t even go to the library and will be there on the first day, so it’s super exciting.

The new public library will be funded by bonds approved by Cedar Park voters in 2015. It is scheduled to open in the fall of 2024.
