Elmer Eugene “Blue” Denney, 73, of Crab Orchard, died Thursday, May 13 at his home. He was married to Roselene (Irvin) Denney whom he married on January 29, 1994.

Eugene was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on November 23, 1947, to the late Milton P. and Violet Marie (Brown) Denney. He had worked as a maintenance engineer for the National Linen Service for over 37 years. Eugene was a member of New Hope First Church of God and enjoyed gardening, yard work, fishing and watching Matt Dillon.

Survivors include his wife, Roselene Denney of Crab Orchard; son, Jonathan Denney of Mansville, Texas; son-in-law, James Douglas Brock and companion Jan; stepson, Gregory Dale Brock and wife, Benita of Crab Orchard; sister, Brenda and husband, Travis Watson of Crab Orchard; brother, Milton Denney and wife, Lynne of Columbus, IN; brother, Kenny Denney and wife, Charlene of Crab Orchard; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Besides his parents, Eugene was predeceased by a brother, Frank Denney.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2021 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Grizzell officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
