Frenzied offseason creates drama for the quarterback, but is Aidan Hutchinson’s suspense over? – Athleticism

Things are starting to take shape for the NFL Draft, now just five weeks away.

A lot has happened since the NFL Scouting Combine ended earlier this month. Professions. Splashes of free agency. Dashboard redesign. As the Pro Day Circuit begins to prepare, here’s a new mock first-round draft — plus one pick for each team that doesn’t have a first-round pick in 2022.

Let’s see how it goes.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Aidan Hutchinson, Edge, Mich.

Ikem Ewonu, and possibly Evan Neal, are surely still on the radar and the possibilities of becoming No. 1. But based on everything we saw in Indianapolis at the combine and what he recorded last season, Hutchinson is the most complete defensive prospect of drafting. Jacksonville just touched offensive tackle Cam Robinson. Hutchinson feels too tough to pass.

2. Detroit Lions – Travon Walker, Edge, Georgia

Malik Willis should be considered for the Lions for several reasons: First, they need a long-term QB and Willis fits into the offensive structure that Dan Campbell is building. Second, if they’re not in love with Willis, someone else might be. Leos might be open for business and in case you forgot: they still need just about everything. Or, with Hutchinson out of the board, they could take the next best advantage — which is absolutely worthy of a top-three pick.
