The Gettys Group of Companies, a family of companies focused on development, branding, interior design and supply for global hospitality, commercial and multi-family projects, has welcomed the return of Chris McDonough to the Chicago-based company. McDonough will serve as director and lead the Chicago and Manila offices of Gettys Interiors and Gettys ONE, the company’s specialty hotel design agency.

McDonough will draw on his 25 years of experience, including 13 years with Gettys Group companies, as well as his experience in hotels, restaurants, retail, multi-family and custom residential projects. His focus is on executing the company’s shared mission: overseeing all aspects of the project process – from business development to establishing scope and setting expectations – to guiding his teams in creating projects. around the world that are beautiful, functional and fiscally successful.

“I thrive on true collaboration,” McDonough said. “It’s a value that has been at the heart of Gettys since day one, and one of the main reasons I decided to return to the company. We are a group of companies with talented multidisciplinary people often working on a singular project. This results in real teamwork within our company, with our customers and with the brands. If we can help make collaboration easier with everyone involved, there’s no better feeling. I’m also excited to go over the incredible list of projects and the caliber of work we can do here. We truly care, and there is heart behind all of our work.

McDonough has worked on high-profile projects such as the Tribune Tower Residences (2022 Gold Key finalist) and Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, the Rand Tower Hotel in Minneapolis (a Marriott Tribute portfolio), the Hyatt Regency in Portland, the Godfrey Hotel Hollywood in Los Angeles and the AGC Rotana & Rayhaan in Dubai.

“In addition to Chris’ innovative and acclaimed work as an accomplished interior designer and licensed architect, his extensive leadership experience in the hospitality and design industries will be a tremendous asset to us all and to the future of our company’s vision to serve our customers and our industry with hospitality, generosity, commitment and care,” said Andrew Fay, Chairman of the Gettys Group Companies.
