The designer will work seamlessly with the principal and the design team to oversee and manage several high-end, long-term residential projects from design through procurement and installation. JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assist the Senior Designer and Project Architect in developing furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, electrical, construction and millwork details
- Develop images and prepare specifications
- Research, source and specify materials, furnishings, lighting, fabrics and finishes
- Request samples and materials needed for design drawings and presentations
- Create client presentations and maintain client design workbooks
- Maintain current and accurate project layouts and drawings as projects progress through to completion
- Create and manage schedules such as finishing, plumbing, doors and hardware, etc.
- Assist lead designer in creating and managing project schedule workflow
- Plan and manage installation, site visits and site surveys
- Enter specifications into Studio Designer and assist the project manager in preparing proposals, executing purchase orders and expediting
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Interior Design with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing interior projects, which must include residential projects
- Knowledge of the complete design process including concept, schematic, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, project management, procurement and installation
- Very good command of AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office
- Favorite Skill Studio Designer
- Experience designing custom furniture and reviewing construction/cabinet drawings is an asset
- Knowledge of high-end showrooms, product lines and marker is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-up, sense of organization, sense of collaboration and sense of communication are essential
- Impeccable written, verbal and graphic communication skills to correspond purposefully with customers, internal team members, vendors and trades
- Must be independent and have excellent time management skills
- Works well in a collaborative environment, but must also be able to work independently and proactively on projects without supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
