About the role

An interior designer at GGLO works closely with members of the design team to develop a comprehensive design of interior spaces and spaces in between. This person is a design thinker, understands building systems and codes, has experience with interior architectural details, and can shape interior space within the context of the building. This practical role facilitates design continuity between architecture and interior finishes and furnishings. An interior designer collaborates with architects, landscape architects, and various consultants to facilitate, coordinate, and execute the design of various residential, work, hospitality, and urban mixed-use projects. GGLO projects include large to medium-sized mixed-use project types as well as the renovation and repositioning of existing projects.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Perform interior architecture tasks during all phases of the design process, across a variety of project scopes and scales

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, promoting design thinking from the inside out and the outside in

· Work with project teams to connect design concepts and ideas to reality in a specific construction context

Coordinate interior design and code requirements with owner, contractor, consultants and other team members

Collaborate with members of GGLO’s High Performance Group to incorporate sustainable design strategies and healthy materials into projects, keeping an eye out for those that are climate positive

Advancing and exploring design opportunities using a wide range of graphics and BIM software to express design solutions

Review and coordinate interior project specifications

Coordinate and direct the work of junior team members

About you

Awareness of the wider context and impact of design

Understanding of the relationship between design and constructability

Knowledge of interior architectural details and materials

· Understanding of building systems, codes and ADA requirements

· Quick learner and critical thinker with the ability to thrive working on concurrent projects at various stages of development

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative team environment

· Ability to mentor and mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing

Desire to follow technical innovations and evolve professionally

Bonus points for LEED AP, WELL AP or similar accreditation

Understanding of BIM execution planning


Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design or equivalent

· Minimum of 10 years of work experience

· Preferred architecture license

Experience in mixed-use, multi-family and/or hotel types of projects

· Experience in all phases of the design process

Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Suite and MS Office

· Willingness and ability to travel for project related responsibilities

Authorization to work in the United States
