Kentucky singer eliminated from American Idol

Kentucky singer Alyssa Wray found out she wasn’t among the top seven contestants for this season of ABC’s “American Idol” on Sunday night. It was after Disney’s night on the show, when she performed “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from “Cinderella.”

She donned a sparkling white dress inspired by the film and gave what famed judge Katy Perry called her most controlled performance yet, and famed judge Lionel Richie said she did a good job keeping suspense and saving her singing persona and big notes for near the end of the performance rather than giving them to the audience in advance. Famed judge Luke Bryan also praised the singer.

After Wray received nothing but positive reviews from the judges and everyone gave their performances, Wray and the other final contestants lined up on stage to hear the final verdict. Chayce Beckham, Casey Bishop, Willie Spence, Hunter Metts, Caleb Kennedy, Grace Kinstler and Arthur Gunn had made it, while Wray, Deshawn Goncalves and Cassandra Coleman were eliminated.
