A senior interior designer/architect, QA/QC specialist works closely with the Documentation and Construction Manager to provide design oversight and technical delivery teams, mentor less experienced design staff and ensure company-wide compliance with all technical and drafting standards.

- Support MA Directors in all aspects of their work, including internal and external interactions and communications
- Effectively advise the project team, ensuring collaboration between internal disciplines (PM, Interiors, Art), consultants and contractors
- Demonstrate positive leadership, communication and organizational skills; mentor and facilitate the growth of less experienced colleagues
- Develop additional standards and protocols to create more effective and efficient work
- Lead internal learning seminars to advance company-wide technical knowledge

Responsibilities
Project design and documentation
- Understand the MA project roadmap, project deliverables by phase and responsibility matrix (if applicable)
- Review mockup (or cartoon) sets
- Research new products and stay up-to-date and knowledgeable about the latest construction methods and construction technologies
- Solve complex problems related to the technical development of large-scale projects
- Develop and/or revise project specific construction details
- Communicate with the MA project team and consultants to ensure technically accurate and well-coordinated documents consistent with design intent
- Work with the specification writer to prepare complete specifications
Quality control
- Comply with MA presentation standards and MA checklists
- Maintain company-wide QA/QC review schedule in line with MA project roadmap
- Monitor company-wide documentation for compliance with building code and accessibility requirements
- Review drawing sets to ensure design intent is clearly conveyed to AOR/Contractor
- Review projects to ensure compliance with office documentation standards, documentation clarity, general constructability, and compliance with building and accessibility regulations.
- Ensure consultant sets are reviewed and coordinated prior to release of drawings for each phase
- Ensure all revisions are understood and completed by project teams
- Ensure that archiving and BIM audits take place at regular intervals
- Have a solid understanding of local building codes and accessibility requirements
- Archive project emails and maintain a standard organization of server files
- Identify recurring themes and technical areas of weakness and lead educational programs to advance technical knowledge across the office
building administration
- Assist in the review of submissions for compliance with design intent as required
- Perform periodic site observations with project teams, mentor on-site design personnel on construction-related issues; Identify pain points and lead training programs to advance CA knowledge across the office

Education: Professional degree in architecture License required Other accreditations encouraged (LEED, WELL, Passivehouse)
Experience: 15+ years of related experience
Skills: 3D modeling using software such as Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD and SketchUp Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), MS Office, Bluebeam
