Central Surrey’s tallest residential tower is a major step towards welcoming residents next spring. The One Central, Canada development team, their local partners and more than 220 skilled workers marked the “top off” milestone on June 30 with the final concrete pour.

“It was a defining moment to come together to celebrate the great work being done and on schedule,” said Fan Yang, General Manager of Aoyuan Canada. “This is an important step towards completing Central Surrey’s tallest residential tower and welcoming the first residents.

One Central has now “completed” to its full height. With the final level of the building being formed, initial occupancies are only a few months away.

Conveniently located in the West Village, the walkability is unmatched – the residence is within walking distance of Simon Fraser University, Innovation Boulevard, North Surrey Leisure Centre, parks, cafes and shops – and only five minutes from the future UBC Surrey campus. With easy access to TransLink and the Skytrain, residents will be able to easily connect to destinations throughout the Lower Mainland and beyond.

“One Central is set to become an iconic building in the heart of Surrey,” said URBAN ONE Builders Chairman Allan Berron. “Not only is it the tallest residential tower in the city, but it also has incredible amenity spaces.”

Residents will enjoy more than 20,000 square feet of amenities spread over five levels, including a rooftop terrace with barbecue, recreational activities and workout space, and a spacious coworking and study lounge. The interior design puts more emphasis on roominess in both form and function. Some units will offer unique features like a sliding wall that will allow you to turn your home office into a second bedroom if needed.

Designed by Chris Dikeakos Architects Inc., the 44-story residential building is being constructed by URBAN ONE Builders, with interiors by CO Interior Design.

Local partnerships, the key to success

Yang noted that One Central would not be possible without the collaboration of partners who are excited to build part of Surrey city center together.

“It was very important for us to work with local experts in their field,” notes Yang. “Quality of service, commitment to all areas of work and unwavering professionalism help us deliver quality and timely progress, since work began in 2018 – even in the uncertainty of COVID.”

An innovative design befitting one of Canada’s fastest growing cities, One Central emerges from a commitment to building a healthy lifestyle.
