General contractor Stellar announced on December 8 that construction of the building for the Bestbet St. Augustine gaming facility has been completed, meaning the last piece of the structure has been installed.

The teams will now begin to finish the interior of the building. The $ 11.6 million project is slated to open in June.

The first groundbreaking took place in July.

Jacksonville-based Stellar and architect Fisher Koppenhafer are partners in the project.

St. Augustine bestbet is scheduled at 800 Marketplace Drive near Interstate 95 and Florida 207 in St. Johns County.

The 40,673 square foot facility will include a card room featuring traditional poker games as well as designated player games such as Ultimate Texas Hold’em, 3 Card Poker and Fortune Pai Gow.

There will be a simulcast area for betting on thoroughbred races, food and beverage service and a sports bar.

“The space will also include unique aesthetic features to evoke the elegance of a luxury casino,” Scott Wright, Stellar project manager, said in the statement.

This includes high-end wood panels, decorative LED lighting, a tree-shaped carpentry structure, cloud-inspired light fixtures and an event center separated by a glass partition for private meetings and other special events. “

The project is located on an 8 acre site at 800 Marketplace Drive near Interstate 95 and Florida 207 in St. Johns County. The plans include a car park with 457 spaces.

“We are proud that bestbet has chosen us to manage this project, and we look forward to delivering another successful location,” said Tim Jenkins, vice president of operations for Stellar’s commercial division, in the statement.

Previously, Stellar redeveloped 60,000 square feet of retail space in the best play center on Monument Road in Jacksonville.

Bestbet also operates a poker room in Orange Park.
