Work begins on Basking Ridge seniors’ housing

BERNARDS — Construction has begun on Arbor Terrace Basking Ridge, a seniors’ residence on Valley Road.

The development has a planned opening date of early 2023. The information center is expected to open this fall.

Arbor Terrace Basking Ridge is a Braemar Partners development and will be operated by The Arbor Company, which operates eight other senior communities in New Jersey.

The community should generate around 80 jobs.

The new community will include 25 assisted living apartments; 24 community apartments for seniors who require additional cognitive support due to the early stages of dementia; and 29 dementia care apartments.

All units will include what the developer calls “resort style” amenities and services such as housekeeping, personal linen and laundry services, and catering. Pet-friendly accommodations are also available.

Other community amenities include gathering spaces, a beauty salon and nail spa, and on-site therapy and rehabilitation. Concierge services and scheduled transportation will also be available for offsite activities and appointments.

“We are thrilled to bring another community to New Jersey, providing Somerset County seniors with the engaged, high-end living amenities The Arbor Company is known for,” said Arbor Company President, Judd Harper, in a press release. “We’re already hearing from many interested seniors, and it’s encouraging to see them as excited as we are for Arbor Terrace Basking Ridge to come to life.

This will be The Arbor Company’s second New Jersey community scheduled to open in 2023. Arbor Terrace Marlton is scheduled to open in early 2023.
